4  Create and configure a project

Manage a shared mesh and one or more analysis cases

A project manages a mesh file once and places one or more analysis cases on it. Each case has independent physical, numerical, and output settings; on export, the project mesh information is connected to the case JSONC.

4.1 Create a new project

  1. Select File > New.
  2. Add a mesh with Home > Import.
  3. Add an analysis case with Home > Case.
  4. In the Project tree, select items under the case and configure Analysis, Models, Materials, Domains, Numerical Method, and Run Control in order.
  5. Save to an empty project folder with File > Save As.

4.2 Save and export

  • Saving a project stores project information and each case’s settings in the working folder.
  • Solution > Export Deck exports the selected case as a JSONC deck for CLI or HPC execution.
  • If you edit JSONC manually, keep a separate copy from the original project before reopening it in the GUI.
Tip

In practice, save one baseline case, then create a new case for each condition to compare—such as Mach number, angle of attack, or mesh—to keep the change history separate.

Planned coverage: new projects, loading cases, saving settings, and compatibility with CLI configuration files.
