1. The Nature of Analysis Results

Wake CFD is a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tool. Its results are approximate solutions that depend on the choice of governing equations, turbulence model, mesh, boundary conditions, and numerical scheme — they are not the physical phenomenon itself. The same geometry can yield different results under different settings.

The validity of an analysis result is therefore the user's responsibility to judge and to verify. We recommend confirming grid convergence, confirming that the physical models are being applied within their range of validity, and, where possible, comparing against experiment or another tool.

2. Safety-Related Judgements

Where Wake CFD results are used in judgements that affect human life, safety, or structural integrity, they must be subjected to an independent verification process and reviewed by a suitably qualified professional in the relevant field. CLEW, Inc. accepts no responsibility for judgements made without such verification.

3. Scope of the Validation Reports

The validation reports published by CLEW, Inc. are results limited to the geometry, conditions, mesh, and software version stated in each report. Each report records the version used and the environment in which it was run.

They cannot be generalised to other conditions. Accuracy for geometries or flow regimes not covered by a report must be established separately by the user.

4. Technical Material and Professional Advice

The technical descriptions, code examples, and other material on this site are for reference and do not substitute for professional consulting or advice. Official technical advice from CLEW, Inc., and support for which it takes responsibility, are provided only under a separate agreement.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The software and examples provided on this site are supplied "AS IS", and CLEW, Inc. makes no guarantee of any kind, including express or implied warranties. Where a separate commercial agreement provides otherwise, that agreement prevails.

6. Regarding Performance Figures

The performance figures stated on this site are values measured by CLEW, Inc. on its own benchmark cases, and the basis of comparison is stated alongside them. Actual performance varies with geometry, mesh size, physical setup, and hardware configuration. The figures stated cannot be construed as a guarantee of performance in any particular environment.

7. Third-Party Software

Wake CFD uses third-party components, including open-source software. The copyright notices and license terms for those components are governed by the open-source license notice and by the notice documents included in the distributed build.
